Two separate products with different platform requirements #
Loupely and Loupely Lens share an account and a credit pool, but they have different platform requirements. Understanding which product needs WordPress and which doesn’t helps clarify what you can do without a WordPress site.
Loupely requires WordPress #
Loupely (the Chrome extension plus WordPress Plugin) is specifically designed for WordPress site owners. The server-side diagnostic layer, which captures PHP Errors, Hook Execution, and WooCommerce pipeline events, requires the WordPress Plugin to be installed on the site being diagnosed. Without the plugin, the Chrome extension runs in browser-only mode, which captures browser-side signals but nothing from the server.
If you don’t have a WordPress site, Loupely’s core diagnostic value (diagnosing why a checkout failed, why a form isn’t sending, why an email didn’t go out) isn’t available to you. The Loupely Annual plan is designed for WordPress site owners.
Loupely Lens works on any website #
Loupely Lens doesn’t require WordPress. It’s a Chrome extension that reads CSS from any webpage you can open in Chrome. Shopify stores, Webflow sites, Squarespace pages, Framer builds, and custom-coded sites all work the same way. There’s no server-side component and no plugin to install.
If you manage non-WordPress sites and experience visual CSS problems, Loupely Lens is the relevant product. The Lens Annual plan ($49/year) covers it specifically. You don’t need a WordPress site or a Loupely plugin installation to use Lens.
If you’re not sure which applies to you #
The simplest way to decide: if your problem is “something stopped working” (functional failure), you need Loupely and you need WordPress. If your problem is “something looks wrong” (visual failure), you need Loupely Lens, and it works on any website.
